Appservices
An interface of the homeserver to third-party applications that can extend functionality in many ways. Currently mostly used for bridging to other protocols.

Extensions
An Arminius-specific concept of extended appservices. Extensions are planned to have more control over the homeserver and potentially be consulted synchronously when processing certain events or requests. While it is based mostly on the appservice API, it serves more the purpose of modules from other homeservers.
Homeserver
A server, that multiple users can use to send messages (over Matrix currently) to other homeservers.
IdP
“Identity Provider”
A service consulted during authentication via OIDC. It usually serves as the source of users and potentially their displaynames and other profile data.

nehwgeneration is a custom-built OpenAPI 3.1 to Rust Axum Server code generator. “ngen” is a shortened form of the term “nehwgeneration”.
OIDC
Basically the one standard for authentication nowadays.
